Work in progress…
I was going to wait with this post and show you the before and after for all our projects, but since everything is taking FOREVER!!! I will go ahead and show you a few sneak peeks. Above, that’s our little dining area. I took over the actual dining room and made an office/studio out of it.
What I changed in the dining area so far:
- Painted the walls, which includes the entire kitchen as well. I used Benjamin Moore Ozark Shadows
- The round rug is from Overstock
- Refinished the dining chairs and upholstered them with a gray and cream fabric.
- Refinished the table by sanding and staining it.
What still needs to be done in this area:
- Replacing the chandelier
- Adding art to the walls
- Adding molding throughout dining and kitchen area
I am still working on the kitchen cabinets. Anyway, I am almost done with the cabinets, all that’s left are the doors. We took the microwave down and will install a range hood as soon as the back-splash from fireclaytile is up. At the moment we are waiting on our butcher block counter tops so until they arrive, we have to put the kitchen on hold.
What I changed in the kitchen area so far:
- Painted the walls. I used Benjamin Moore Ozark Shadows
- Painted the cabinets with Annie Sloan Pure White, see here how I started.
- Removed the Microwave
What still needs to be done in this area:
- Finishing up to paint and wax the cabinet doors
- Remove old back-splash and installing new handmade Fireclaytile back-splash
- Reorganizing each cabinet
- Install a range hood
- Add wall art
- Make a wooden clock
- Install new butcher block counter tops
I have a few other projects going as well, but those I really like to show you when they’re done. In a different before and after post.
What projects are you working on right now, and do you find it to be difficult to do it yourself? I do sometimes, since all of this remodeling is new to me and my husband.
