DIY // Dining Chair Reupholstering
I am quite happy that my dining area is 90% complete now! Although I still have the curtains and decor to finish up, it will do for now, and be perfect for the holidays.

I found this Table (incl. a leaf) and 4 chairs on craigslist for $100, I had to refinish the table and chairs because they were scratched and the color wasn’t exactly what we like. But it all turned out gorgeous.
The fabric I used, was from Joann’s at a 50% discount and so was the foam. I used the Minwax 22718 1/2 Pint Wood Finish Interior Wood Stain, Ebony for the table and the Annie Sloan Pure White on the Chairs. I initially was going to finish the chairs in the same stain as the table, but since I planned on painting the kitchen in white I had to expand the kitchen by adding white into the kitchenette. So white chairs it was!
I quite often work at this table, it’s one of my favorite spots in the house. I completed a step by step tutorial for you in case you are planning on Reupholstering a chair of your own! Enjoy and make sure to share your finished project.

My updated to do list can be found right, here.
Hey Bettina! I just loved what you did here. That fabric was my favorite pick. The print was edgy and very elegant. It even complemented the mat. Your DIY set looks really expensive! Well, I saw this article from http://www.uratex.com.ph/industrial-institutional/diy-reupholster-sofa/ which explained upholstering but there were not enough illustrations. I really appreciate your creative blog. Thank you for the clear directions and images as well.
Bet, I had mine reupholstered just like yours. I’m wondering how do you clean it? I read from http://www.electrodry.com.au/the-secret-to-great-upholstery-cleaning/ about the Cleaning Pie method but how about spillage? Accidentally soiled mine with ink. I would really appreciate your tips.
Regards,
Pria
Hi Pria, glad you stopped by! I never had to clean ink out of upholstery, but I found this on the web: http://housekeeping.about.com/od/stainremoval/a/inkstains.htm hope it helps?
