DIY // How to make your own beautiful art piece
The empty space above our fireplace really made me antsy, I just couldn’t stand looking at it anymore after we had painted our living room. It needed a nice painting ASAP – but budget friendly, please!
I came across this super cute Painted Pebbles print by Garima Dhawan, which inspired me to make my own painting. So this is what you will need to get started:
- Brush set (3.99 – 4.99 at HobbyLobby)
- Acrylic paint (5 for $4.00 Sale at Michaels)
- Cardboard (5.99 -9.99 at HobbyLobby – Sale 30%off)
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Ruler
- 1/2 glass of water
You want to start by drawing your pebbles applying light pressure onto the cardstock. When you are done filling up your canvas with different sizes of pebbles, grab your ruler and draw a line (however you like) from one side of your pebble to the other.
When you finished with all the lines, its time to fill out those pebbles.
You can mix your colors to make new colors and just fill your pebbles out randomly.
After your canvas is fully dry, 12h to be sure! You can frame it and hang it. Hope you enjoyed this DIY, for more DIY’s take a look here.
You can purchase this painting right, here.

I have never known how artists make art until now!
I feel like I can make as much art as any artist out there and that essentially makes me an artist. Thank you, Bettina, for showing us all that if you can dream it, you can do it.
