5 Things I recommend // All about Blogging
When it comes to blogging, you can go so many ways by doing it. I am a blogger since 2009 and would say I learned quite a few tips & tricks about blogging, which I will share with you today, right here!
Let’s start by saying that writing a blog takes time, you have to be consistant and also write about unique things (something that’s not on the world wide web yet). I know! It’s not easy at all and until a blog develops good traffic it can take at least 1 year.
But first of all, you have to be yourself when writing a blog, let your readers hear your own voice. Nobody wants to read something that’s made up or is copied from another blogger! So, keep in mind that being unique might bring you farther than copy/pasting someone else!
Ok, so here are 5 Things that I recommend for blogging:
1. You need a clear and simple theme that can be customized to fit your needs, The Twenty Eleven Theme from WordPress is something I would start with if you sign up for a blog at wordpress.com. If you decide to go with Blogger.com, they have really cute themes that you can choose from, right here. I started my first blog on blogger!
2. If you are an experienced blogger, and want to migrate your blog to self-hosting I highly recommend WordPress.org. You will need a hosting account first, I used Godaddy for a very long time (I believe since 2009), but since last year I have been disappointed with their shared hosting capabilities. As my traffic increased, I had more and more “Internal Server Error” messages pop up and the loading time was killing me. So, I started looking for a new hosting company and I have to say Dreamhost is so far a great choice. They are also recommended by WordPress.
“WordPress 1-click install, auto-updates, unlimited hosted domains, and great support! DreamHost powers over 600,000 WordPress blogs and websites globally, and offers a 2 week free trial, a free domain name, plus unlimited disk space, bandwidth, MySQL databases, and email addresses. Easily install your favorite WordPress plug-ins, and rest easy with our 100% uptime guarantee.”
3. The next step is very important if you write a blog. SEO (Search engine optimization) is something you need if you want to be found on the web, make sure to start familiarizing yourself with the great works of SEO. You can find some recourses about SEO here:

4. Share your unique content via social media. Yes, this step is just as important as SEO! Not sharing your unique content won’t bring you any new readers… so make sure to use Pinterest, facebook, twitter etc.
5. And my last recommendation is a simple rule I mentioned before, “blog about something you love“, if it’s cooking – share your recipes, are you a designer – show off your unique designs, or are you a crafter – we love to see how it’s made!
This is it for today, so start blogging and share your blog link in the comment box below, I love to see what you are blogging about.
