How To Naturally Health Care Our Body
Hi there, thanks for stopping by. No matter what health situation you are coming from, this article was created to inspire you and give you a natural health perspective on healing the body. I shared my personal story here: My Personal Health Journey. Over the past few years, I have learned to overcome illness and be more in tune with my body and mind. And you can too!
(Un)fortunately, this was thanks to the failing healthcare system that surrounds us, and the over-processed foods available in every single store.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not against medical care but I believe the system we are stuck with needs an overhaul. However, that’s not a subject I want to discuss today. I’ll be sharing my favorite Natural Health Care Herbal remedies, foods, and methods to heal your body when you do catch a cold.

To give you a quick idea of how this post came to life. First, I want you to understand that every experience I made in life has contributed to my basic choice-making. Secondly, my health story has changed my life and is basically why I am sharing my tips on how to natural health care for the body.
My Natural Health Journey
Once I became ill enough to where we questioned my mental health and overall well-being, it became pretty clear that I was on my own in finding and fixing the root cause.
The medical care facility I used, ran all tests possible but my bloodwork didn’t show much that would have been concerning. And that was pretty much all the help I received from the “health care” system.
Luckily, my auntie had a naturopath that was willing to look at my bloodwork. And after only 24h, my aunt told me to look into gluten sensitivity symptoms, and “oh boy” did I get a wake-up call.
A week later I gave my diet a much-needed makeover, with only a minimum of processed foods, homecooked meals, and no more gluten (flour products). Two weeks into my new way of eating, I started feeling much better. My skin became radiant again, I had no more cramps, and regular bowel movements, plus my productivity increased.
Then, one year later, I adopted a plant-based diet along with being gluten-free, which has been fantastic for me. Here are some of my meal inspirations.

Natural Health
Remedies For Digestion Issues
Your gut health is crucial for overall well-being, and when digestion goes off track, it can lead to discomfort, bloating, or even chronic issues. Here are some of my go-to natural remedies for digestive health:
Ginger Tea
A warm cup of ginger tea soothes the stomach, helps with nausea, and reduces bloating.
Peppermint Tea
Known for its calming effect on the digestive system, peppermint tea is a great remedy for bloating and indigestion.

Apple Cider Vinegar
A small amount (diluted in water) before meals can aid digestion and regulate stomach acid.
Probiotic-Rich Foods
Fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and coconut yogurt help restore gut flora.
Remedies For Stress & Anxiety
Mental well-being is just as important as physical health. Stress and anxiety affect our immune system, digestion, and sleep. Here are my favorite natural stress-relief methods:
Ashwagandha
This adaptogenic herb helps balance cortisol levels and improves resilience to stress.
Chamomile Tea
A natural sedative that calms the nervous system and promotes better sleep.

Magnesium
Magnesium is found in foods like dark leafy greens, nuts, and seeds, supporting relaxation and restful sleep.
Breathwork & Meditation
Taking just 10 minutes daily to focus on deep breathing can dramatically reduce stress.
Remedies For Better Sleep
Quality sleep is the foundation of good health. If you’re struggling with rest, these natural solutions might help:
Lavender Essential Oil
Applying a few drops on your pillow or diffusing it in the room can promote relaxation.
No Screens Before Bed
Blue light exposure messes with melatonin production, making it harder to fall asleep.

Valerian Root Tea
This herbal tea is known to support deep, restful sleep.
Establish A Bedtime Routine
Going to bed simultaneously every night helps regulate your body’s internal clock.
Remedies For Colds
When a cold starts creeping in, acting fast with natural remedies can make all the difference. Over the years, I’ve found that the key is to support the body’s immune response rather than just suppressing symptoms. Here are my top natural remedies for fighting off a cold:

Herbal-Infused Olive Oil (Oregano, Thyme & Rosemary)
This powerful infused oil is packed with antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting properties. Oregano, thyme, and rosemary have been used for centuries to fight infections and support respiratory health.
How to Make It:
- In a 32oz glass jar, combine 16oz of extra virgin olive oil with 1 cup of dried oregano, 1/2 cup thyme, and 1/2 cup of rosemary.
- Let the mixture infuse for at least 6 weeks (or gently heat it on low for 1 hour to speed up the process).
- Strain the oil and store it in a dark glass bottle.
How to Use It:
- Fill the longer side of a vegetable capsule with the Oregano & Olive oil infusion. Place the closed capsules in a glass jar and freeze them.
- Take one capsule orally at the first sign of a cold. Needs to be taken in the morning (after breakfast) and the afternoon (after dinner) for best results.

Remedies For Colds
When a cold starts creeping in, acting fast with natural remedies can make all the difference. Over the years, I’ve found that the key is to support the body’s immune response rather than just suppressing symptoms.
Here are my top natural remedies for fighting off a cold:

Elderberry Juice
Elderberry is packed with antioxidants and has been shown to reduce the severity and duration of colds and flu. I like to drink 1-2 tablespoons of elderberry syrup daily during the colder months.
RECIPE / ELDERBERRY SYRUP
Vitamin C
Boosting vitamin C helps shorten colds and strengthens the immune system. Fresh oranges, kiwis, and bell peppers are great natural sources, but I also love taking camu camu powder or liposomal vitamin C.

Butterfly Pea Tea
This antioxidant-rich tea supports respiratory health and soothes a sore throat. Plus, it has a beautiful blue color that turns purple with a squeeze of lemon!
Lemon Ginger Honey Tea
A classic remedy for good reason—this tea is warming, soothing, and full of immune-boosting properties. I make it by steeping fresh ginger slices in hot water, adding a squeeze of lemon and a spoonful of raw honey.

Lifestyle Tweaks to Support Healing
- No sugar – Sugar weakens the immune system and feeds harmful bacteria.
- No alcohol or caffeine – These can dehydrate the body and slow recovery.
- Plenty of rest – Sleep is when your body does most of its healing.
- Hydration – Drink plenty of warm fluids to keep mucus thin and flush out toxins.
Final “Natural Health” Thoughts
Healing naturally takes time, patience, and consistency, but it is absolutely worth it. Your body is designed to heal itself when given the right tools—nourishing foods, herbal remedies, and lifestyle changes that support overall well-being.
By incorporating these natural remedies early, I’ve been able to stop colds in their tracks before they turn into something worse. I hope these tips help you, too! Let me know in the comments if you have any favorite go-to remedies for colds.
Wishing you health and happiness,
