DIY // V-Day Double Stud Earrings
What You’ll Need:
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Round Nose Pliers
- Nippers
- Length of Chain x4
- Earring Studs with Loop x4
- Jump Rings x4
- Earring Backings x4
- Charms x2 (optional)
Step 1. Prep
This tutorial is quick and easy and is a super cute way to show off double pierced ears! Begin by cutting four lengths of chain using your nippers. Cut two lengths measuring 2 inches and two lengths measuring 2 1/2 inches. I chose the black and gold chain for maximum matchability, but you can use any style or color chain you like.
Step 2. Assemble
Once you have all your materials laid out, open a jump ring and slip on one of each: a post, a longer chain, a shorter chain, and an optional charm. I was feeling festive, so I added some cute vintage heart charms for Valentine’s Day. Close your jump ring securely using your needle nose and round nose pliers. Repeat this step for the second post on this earring, Then continue on to the second earring. Make sure to keep your chains from getting tangled during this process.
Tip:
Carefully bend the jump ring open to one side, then the other, until the two ends are as close together as possible. You should hear a “click” sound when the ring’s opening is so close that the two sides are flush together. This will give you a nice secure closure.
Step 3. Put it On!
Your earrings are finished except for one last detail, wearing them. Put in each earring from front to back, to avoid tangling, and attach them snug to your lobes with backings. Now you have some lovely simple chain earrings for any occasion you like!
Note:
This design is intended for those with two ear piercings, however, cuffs or screw back earring studs will still work just fine.
I hope you enjoyed reading my tutorial as much as I enjoyed writing it. Have a wonderful day and keep crafting!
WOW, they are gorgeous! Thank you 1000x for sharing this tutorial.
I was designing earrings of the same type when I read this post. I have a box chain gold necklace and gold studs.
Your design helps me have confidence mine will work out. Thanks.
