Hi hi, it’s time to DIY with Essential Oil’s!!!
I have used Essential Oils in my home for the past 6 months, and I am telling you it is life changing. Before we came to Okinawa, Japan my daughter had constant issues with wheezing and the doctors thought she might be in the beginning stages of developing asthma. Scary I know!!!
Then, one day my neighbor and friend Beth told me about Essential Oils, and how they helped her family. Ever since I started using them, my daughter hasn’t had any more wheezing problems.
That’s why I wanted to share the “BEST All-Purpose Essential Oil Salve” recipe with you guys. This recipe can be used as the base for all your boo-boos. The difference is, that I don’t add my EO’s to the entire batch. I prefer to add the EO’s to my 4oz. jars first, then fill them with my cream base. This gives me the possibility to make different ointments/creams at a time.
This all-purpose salve recipe is very simple to make, all it takes is a few minutes to melt all ingredients, cool the mixture and pour it into small 2-4oz jars.
Best All-Purpose Essential Oil Salve:
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1 cup olive oil
- 7 tbsp. beeswax
- 1 tbsp. Vitamin E Oil (optional)
- Add Essential oils
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Place a 2 cup(s) measuring cup into the pot, the boiling water should reach the 1 cup line on the outside of the measuring cup.
- Combine all ingredients in the measuring cup, and melt them in the water bath. Stir occasionally with a clean spoon until everything is melted.
- After everything is melted, remove the measuring cup from the water bath and set a timer to 15minutes to cool.
- While the oil mixture is cool, add the mason jars to the boiling water for 5 minutes so they can be sanitized before use. You can skip this step if your jars went through the dishwasher on the highest setting.
- NOTE: Let the mason jars cool before adding essential oils to them.

Because I added the EO’s to my mason jars and filled them up after, I was able to make 4 different 4oz. jars of salves, plus one small 2oz. jar for on the go.

Remember when I got my new tattoo back in October, a tattoo heals for up to 1 year underneath the skin after it has been added to your skin. So, even if you don’t see any significant change on the surface of your tattoo. It still needs your care, especially if it is a colored tattoo. You can start using this salve once your tattoo has healed at least 3-4weeks after the last appointment. This is important, because applying EO’s and salves too early to your tattoo might not be a good idea.

- 1 tbsp of Vitanine E – to each jar
